As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Basehor VFW/Basehor Community Volunteers Annual Baby Back Ribs Sale is Here!

Get ready for mouthwatering BBQ and community spirit! The Basehor VFW and Basehor Community Volunteers are proud to announce our Annual Baby Back Ribs Sale—a delicious tradition supporting local veterans and our Basehor community.

Order your ribs now and pick them up August 25th–29th, 2025, between 4:00–7:00pm each day.

Our tender baby back ribs can be ordered with a side of mouth watering potato salad, cole slaw, and/or pasta salad. Don’t forget dessert—enjoy carrot cake, brownies, and even homemade ice cream!

All proceeds directly benefit local veterans and community programs.
We invite everyone to join us in supporting these worthy causes while enjoying a fantastic meal.

The Congressional Charter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States 
 
That the purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead; and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies. 
 
The Charter was amended December 4, 2014 by the 113th congress, Title 36 United States Code replacing men with veterans, and widows with surviving spouses.
